Muscle & Body Formula is based on a traditional herbal formula for GENERAL REVITALIZATION. The main ingredient asphaltum (shilajit) has been used traditionally as anti-inflammatory, detoxifier and a general tonic for supporting healing of tissues and sustaining health. The formulas propriety blend of herbs is designed to provide the highest potency.
Oxidative Stress causes inflammatory disorders and muscle wasting
Oxidative stress and related inflammatory disorders have been increasingly implicated in tissue degradation, impaired recovery from injury, a deteriorated state of health and accelerated aging. One of the most prone to oxidative damage is the muscle tissue. Accumulated free radicals due to exercise and muscle micro-trauma can overwhelm the muscle’s antioxidant defenses, resulting in oxidative damage to muscle fibers. When inflammation in the muscle becomes chronic, it may lead to muscle atrophy, loss of strength, loss of durability, muscle aging and development of myopathy (muscle disease).
It is now known that the beneficial effects of exercise on muscle conditioning and overall health can be utterly negated by high, unabated oxidative stress. Normally the muscle can defend itself from oxidative free radicals through its self produced antioxidant enzymes (glutathione peroxidase and SOD), but even these powerful antioxidants have their threshold limits, which can be overwhelmed by accumulated free radicals.
Symptoms of an overwhelmed muscle:
Acute or chronic inflammation
Loss of strength
Loss of durability
Increased probability of injury
Impaired recovery after exercise
Muscle & Body Recovery Formula was specially designed to help protect against oxidative damage in cells and tissues. The formula contains a potent blend of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, body tonics and immuno-strengthening compounds, designated to naturally treat inflammation, rejuvenate tissues and enhance muscle and recovery after exercise.
Shilajit (asphaltum punjabianum) – indicated as a panacea for body healing and rejuvenation, shilajit has been known for its powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, muscle & tissue restoring properties. What makes shilajit so unique is its unique nutrient content which include fulvic acid, humic acid, hippuric acid and benzo flavons, all of which now become major subjects of contemporary botanical research. Shilajit has been used traditionally in Asian, Middle Eastern and Ayurvedic medicine as body tonic for muscle and tissue healing, blood sugar balancing, neuro protection, virility enhancement and performance boost.
Amla C (emblica officinalis) – vitamin C complex as naturally occurs in amla berries, along with bioflavonoids (hesperidin, rutin, quercitin), tannins and ellagic acid – all of which are known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-cancerous, detoxifying properties. Amla berries are the most potent source of natural vitamin C among all edible fruits, it has been used traditionally to prevent and heal infection, suppress tumor formation, alleviate inflammatory disorders and enhance body cleansing.
Ashwagandha – called the ‘ginseng’ of Ayurvedic medicine, Ashwagandha is an adaptogen herb known for its energy-boosting, performance enhancing and immuno strengthening properties. Ashwagandha has also shown to have a mild sedative effect on the central nervous system and work as a natural muscle relaxant. The root extract has been widely used to restore male libido, cure impotence and increase fertility. Preliminary studies indicate that the Ashwagandha herb helps counteract stress symptoms, treat anxiety and insomnia, inhibit tumor growth, lower cholesterol and most notably, enhance sexual performance. It has been speculated that the herb may also posses potent antioxidant, neuro-protective and anti-aging properties.
